Message from Bishop Denis

On Wed. last, 19th May, Archbishop Farrell (Archbishop of Dublin) was communicating with the Office of the Taoiseach seeking further clarification and guidance, on the celebration of Sacraments at this time. The subsequent advice that was issued from the Office of the Taoiseach, was
“It is advised that other religious ceremonies such as First Holy Communions and Confirmations should not take place in May and June. Further advice will follow on resumption of these ceremonmies when it is safe to do so”

It is with sadness then that I request that there be no celebrations of the Sacraments of First Holy Communion or Confirmation in Kildare and Leighlin in these months. We must continue to adhere to advice not even, but especially, as we emerge, hopefully, from this Pandemic.
Signed Bishop Denis Nulty – 21st May 2021
