• We pray for Josephine who died peacefully at Abbeyleix Community Nursing Unit on Friday
30th July 2021. Removal on Sunday afternoon to St. Edmund’s Church, Castletown, for
Requiem Mass at 2. 0′clock, (max 50 people), followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery,
Mountrath. We extend sympathy to Anne, James, Gerard (Ger) and Fintan and their families,
relatives, neighbours and friends.
Robert Wheeler, Ringstown, Mountrath,
We pray for Robert who died peacefully at his home on Mon. 26th July. Robert’s Funeral Service was held in St. Peter’s Church, Portlaoise on Wed. 29th July followed by burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Mountrath. We extend sympathy to Mark, Carol and Simon, daughter-in-law Eileen, Carol’s partner Pat, sister Annie (Hatton), grandchildren Stephanie, Claire, Yvonne, Rachel and James, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends and neighbours.
May Josephine and Robert rest in the peace of Christ.

Our Annual Cemetery Mass and Blessing of the Graves was celebrated in Mountrath Cemetery on Thurs. 29th July.
Because of the Covid 19 Restrictions we were confined to celebrating this Mass without a Congregation.
However Tommy Ferns has made a recording of this Mass and this will be on our Parish Website from next weekend.

ALONE manage a national support line and additional supports for older people who have concerns or are facing difficulties relating to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Professional staff are available to answer queries and give advice and reassurance where necessary. The support line is open seven days a week, 8am – 8pm, by calling 0818 222 024.
The Lough Derg Pilgrim Path
The Lough Derg Pilgrim Path on the lough shore is now open daily. The full route is a 12km loop, with a shorter 8km option, and several information boards highlight features of particular interest. Leaflets are available at the Visitors Centre.
A guided walk experience will be offered on Sunday 25th and Saturday 31st July, with Mass outdoors, weather permitting.
