Parish Notes for Sat. 7th – Sun. 8th March 2020

Fergal Farrell, Brockera, Ballyfin R.I.P.
We pray for Fergal who died suddenly on Tues. 25th Feb. Fergal’s Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Fintan’s Parish Church, Mountrath on Sat. 29th Feb. followed by burial in Mountrath Cemetery. We extend sympathy to Lynda, Brian, Colin, Cian and Caoimhe and to his parents, Eileen and Brian, brother, Andrew, sisters Siobhan and Evelyn and to all the Farrell and Kirwan families, relatives, neighbours and his many friends,

Bridget (Bridie) Hetherington (Nee Byrne) Dysartbeigh R.I.P.
We pray for Bridie who died peacefully on Sun. 1st March (in her 91st year) at Ballard Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise. Bridie’s Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath on Tues. 3rd March followed by burial in Mountrath Cemetery. We extend sympathy to Mary and Claire, Johnny and Paddy, brother Jimmy and all their families, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Kathleeen McDonald, Kiln Lane, formerly Lusmagh, Banagher. R.I.P.
We pray for Kathleen (Christine Catherine) who died peacefully at her home on Tues. 3rd March. Kathleen’s Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath on Thurs. 5th March followed by burial in Mountrath Cemetery. We extend sympathy to her daughter Ellen, son Joseph, grandson Theo, brothers John and Paul, sisters Bernadette, Sr. Sarah, Agnes and May and their families, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Margaret (Peg) Keeshan (Nee Lalor) Patrick St., R.I.P. We pray for Peg who died peacefully at Regional Hosp., Portlaoise on Tues. 3rd March. Peg’s Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath on Fri. 6th March followed by burial in Mountrath Cemetery. We extend sympathy to Trisha, Eugene, Kevin and Brenda and their families, sister Anne (England), brother Eugene (Lalor) Trumera, and their families, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May Fergal, Bridget (Bridie), Kathleen and Peg rest in the peace of Christ

Celebration of Confirmation
Next Saturday, 14th March we welcome Bishop Denis to Mountrath and Ballyfin Parishes – Bishop Denis will lead us in our celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Ceremony begins in Mountrath Parish Church at 11.00 am and in Ballyfin Parish Church at 2.30 pm
Best wishes to all our Candidates for Confirmation, Parents and families, Godparents, and all involved in our preparation programmes over the past months.
